Al Ghurair Centre in Dubai Unveils Major Expansion Plans

This development is part of a significant ongoing revamp aimed at modernizing the mall and attracting more visitors. Al Ghurair Centre's projected footfall is 15 million visitors, and with these latest expansion plans, these numbers are expected to grow.

Al Ghurair Centre, established as Dubai's pioneering shopping mall since 1981, has revealed its expansion plans, which include the addition of 25 new shopping and dining establishments. This development is a part of a significant ongoing revamp aimed at modernizing the mall and attracting more visitors.

The current additions will increase the total store count in the centre to over 240. Notable brands like Under Armour and Giordano inaugurated their outlets in September 2023. High-profile launches, including Nike, Converse, and a large format Sun and Sand Sports, are scheduled for later this month. Others, such as Fila and Homebox, are gearing up to commence operations by the year's end. Visitors can also anticipate the opening of Zataar W Zeit, Brand Bazaar, and other major brands in 2024.

Anwar Atari, CEO for Commercial, and Residential at Al Ghurair Properties, reflected on the mall's resilience, stating that despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Al Ghurair Centre has maintained high occupancy levels. He added, "Our commitment remains to elevate the leisure and entertainment experiences for our visitors. The successful launch of GLITCH was a testament to this commitment, and the upcoming street food hall is another exciting development to look forward to in the coming year.”

GLITCH, a family entertainment hub within the mall, has been a significant attraction since its opening in June 2023. With over 30 interactive attractions on its 3,700 square meter space, the attraction has reported an average daily footfall of nearly 3,000 visitors. Al Ghurair Centre plans to further amplify the entertainment offerings with the introduction of GLITCH Laser and GLITCH Kart in 2024.

Another significant upcoming feature is Flayva, a 'street food' hall. Spanning 3,318 square meters and hosting 23 food & beverage units, Flayva aims to provide a blend of local and global food concepts, accommodating close to 500 patrons.

Al Ghurair Centre's projected footfall is 15 million visitors, and with these latest expansion plans, these numbers are expected to grow, according to a statement from the company.
