How Will Bybit’s New Advisory Role Boost Dubai’s Crypto Hub Status?
So, Bybit, which is the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has just extended its partnership with the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC). After a successful year working together, Bybit is moving from being a key partner to taking on an advisory role. This new arrangement is set to run from August 2024 to July 2025.
In this advisory role, Bybit will help guide the DMCC Crypto Center and its members on various strategic initiatives. The idea is to continue growing Dubai’s reputation as a global hub for crypto and Web3 technologies.
One exciting part of this partnership is that Bybit and DMCC will co-host two major events this year. First, they’ll organise a global hackathon to encourage developers to create new Web3 projects. Then, they’ll hold a flagship conference to bring together industry experts and establish Dubai as a centre for thought leadership in the crypto space.
Over the past year, Bybit has already made a big impact. They’ve supported blockchain startups with a US$100,000 prize pool hackathon, offered a Masterclass for aspiring entrepreneurs, and hosted a significant event at Token 2049. They’ve also advised over 20 startups, helping them gain a foothold in Dubai’s crypto scene.
Bybit’s new advisory role means they’ll use their deep industry knowledge to help shape the future of Dubai’s crypto and Web3 industry. Helen Liu, Bybit’s COO, expressed excitement about this new role and their commitment to driving innovation in Dubai. Meanwhile, Belal Jassoma from DMCC praised Bybit for their substantial contributions over the past year and looks forward to the new ways this expanded partnership will support DMCC Crypto Center members as they grow their businesses.
