Standard Chartered Bank, in partnership with C3 – Companies Creating Change, has launched the sixth edition of its Women in Tech Accelerator program in the UAE. This initiative aims to support and empower female entrepreneurs in the technology sector, fostering innovation, diversity, and economic development.
The program provides a platform for ten female-led startups to overcome challenges, refine their business models, and gain access to valuable resources. Applications are now open for early-stage, UAE-based startups with disruptive and impactful technology solutions. The deadline to apply is June 16, 2024.
Rola Abu Manneh, CEO of Standard Chartered in the UAE, Middle East, and Pakistan, said. “this partnership supports our commitment to empowering women and fostering technological advancements. Through mentorship, targeted support, and seed funding, we equip women with the tools they need to drive change.”
C3, a regional impact solutions provider, joins forces with Standard Chartered for this edition. C3 is one of the leading impact innovation solutions provider in the Middle East and Africa, geared towards identifying and scaling “profit with a purpose” startups that are focused on solving the world’s most pressing environmental and social challenges aligned with the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals. Medea Nocentini, Founder of C3 and Senior Partner at Global Ventures feels that C3’s expertise will “empower these women founders and propel their businesses to the next level”.
Following a rigorous selection process, ten startups will be chosen to participate in a tailored program. This program will cover various topics including business acceleration, investor readiness, and diversity and inclusion. The goal is to prepare these businesses for a Demo Day in October, where they will pitch their ideas to a network of investors and industry experts. Three winning startups will be awarded 550,000 AED (USD 150,000) in equity-free seed capital to fuel their growth.
The Women in Tech program aligns with Standard Chartered’s commitment to empowering women through entrepreneurship and fostering a thriving tech ecosystem in the UAE.
