China will reap the benefits of Artificial Intelligence in the years to come
Artificial intelligence (AI) has had many fascinating breakthroughs since its inception, and can be applied to a wide range of industries and corporations. From self-driving cars to AlphaGo, the machine that was able to beat the world’s best Go player, there are many things that point to the incredible power of artificial intelligence.
However, it becomes even more fascinating when you look forward. PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the prestigious global professional services firm, predicts that the global gross domestic product (GDP) is set to increase 14% because of AI, and that the United States and China are the main frontrunners and beneficiaries of that. They estimate that artificial intelligence’s deployment will create an additional $15.7 trillion in global GDP, of which China will reap roughly half, $7 trillion.
