Is Saudi Arabia Ready to Mandate WakeCap’s Safety Technology?
WakeCap recently demonstrated its construction site management technologies to the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources in Saudi Arabia. This event took place at the Nomu accelerator and industrial business incubator initiative's closing ceremony. Dr. Hassan Albalawi, the CEO and founder of WakeCap, presented their technology to a notable audience, including His Excellency Bandar I. Alkhorayef, the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources; His Excellency Mr. Khalil Ibn Salamah, the Deputy Minister for Industrial Affairs; Mr. Majid Alargoubi, CEO of the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones; and Mr. Sami Alhussaini, Governor of the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority.
Dr. Albalawi expressed gratitude for the positive feedback and endorsement from the officials, highlighting that this validation not only underscores WakeCap’s role in setting new safety standards but also suggests a push towards mandating such technology on major projects. This move aims to enhance transparency and improve compliance rates, aligning with WakeCap’s mission to revolutionise safety protocols in the construction industry and beyond.
The Ministry’s involvement as a board member in the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health (NCOSH) further reinforces WakeCap’s importance in shaping future occupational safety and health regulations. The government plans to enforce safety and security measures in construction and related sectors, with WakeCap’s technology playing a crucial role. Their system provides real-time monitoring of workers' conditions, allowing for instant emergency alerts and significantly faster response times.
Additionally, WakeCap’s data collection supports compliance with safety regulations and aids in incident investigations. It helps identify the root causes of accidents and implement preventive measures to avoid future incidents. This approach supports the government's goal of not just mandating safety regulations but also fostering a culture of safety through data-driven insights.
With over 35 leading projects and developments already using WakeCap’s technology, the company is setting a high standard in digital construction technology and safety innovation.
