Innovate for Tomorrow Challenge: Dubai Holding Invites Global Entrepreneurs to Drive Sustainable Solutions in the UAE
Dubai Holding, a global investment holding company operating in 13 countries, has opened applications for its 'Innovate for Tomorrow Challenge.' The initiative invites innovators and scale-up companies worldwide to submit scalable and impact-driven solutions tackling critical sustainability challenges in the UAE.
The challenge, which is accepting submissions from January 31 until March 31, 2024, is geared towards entrepreneurial talent and developing future-focused sustainability solutions. Spearheaded by Dubai Holding, the initiative is implemented in collaboration with TECOM Group’s in5 business incubator.
Open to global participants, the 'Innovate for Tomorrow Challenge' encourages submissions in various forms, including Minimum Viable Products, services, processes, or combinations. The focus is on driving a circular economy in the UAE and leading its path towards a net-zero future, with a specific emphasis on aligning solutions with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 12, covering economic circularity, resource efficiency, supply chain sustainability, waste reduction, and consumer education.
Huda Buhumaid, Chief Impact Officer at Dubai Holding, expressed the company's commitment to sustainability, stating, “Sustainability is at the forefront of our operations across Dubai Holding. Through initiatives like the Innovate for Tomorrow Challenge, we actively pursue transformative opportunities to strengthen our contribution to national sustainability agendas.”
Buhumaid highlighted the challenge as a platform for impactful collaboration, inviting global innovators who share a commitment to scalable solutions for a better, more sustainable, and inclusive future. The challenge aims to support the reduction of Dubai's environmental impact and establish Dubai Holding as a catalyst for meaningful change in the UAE and beyond.
The winners of the 'Innovate for Tomorrow Challenge,' to be announced in May 2024, will undergo a rigorous evaluation process. The selected winner and runner-up will receive a comprehensive rewards package, including access to TECOM Group’s in5 business incubator and a nominal cash prize. The winner will have the exclusive opportunity to implement their solution through a pilot program with Dubai Holding and will receive tailored mentoring by industry experts from across the Group. Additionally, the five finalists will have the opportunity to showcase their innovations to key industry stakeholders during an investor pitch day.
